On Saturday June 13th , the Ballee Playing Fields in Ballymena, Co Antrim will play host to a Charity car show extravaganza, ‘The Ballymena Car Fest’. All proceeds from this fun, family day out will be donated to ‘MacMillan Cancer Care’.
Focusing on the 50th anniversary of everybodies favourite small car, the Mini. The event promises to be a birthday bash with a difference. Show vehicles of all marques are invited to the party with everything from Fords and Ferrari’s to Singer’s and Subaru’s on display. Visitors will also be treated to a display of over 50 of the countries finest lorries, motorsport display and vintage tractors.
In the Main arena will be the Concours, where the best of the best will be pitched up against each other to battle it out for the accolade of ‘THE MEGUIARS NORTHERN IRELAND CONCOURS CAR OF THE YEAR 2009’. Be sure not to miss the Show & Shine arenas where all makes and models will be on display, showing off why they should be in the running for one of the two trophies up for grabs in each of the 27 different classes or one of five special awards, Best Paint, Best Engine Bay, Best Presented, Best Interior and Best ICE.
The Ballymena Car Fest promises to be a great day out for all the family, with on-site catering, trade stands, local car dealer displays and kids entertainment.
Local radio / DJ personality, Paul Dempster will be entertaining the crowds in his own inimitable style with lots of music, interviews and more.
There will be a Charity Auction on the day, Lots include a helmet signed by the drivers of the 2009 BTCC and a signed Championship winning Irish A1 GP team shirt, also Signed shirts etc from Ford WRC drivers Mikko Hirvonen and Jari Matti Latvala, so don’t forget the cheque book!
Show sponsors The Country Garage Mini and Meguiar’s UK will be on site to offer their expertise and display their products. Rockstar Energy Drinks are donating 100% of sales on the day to the designated charity.
The venue which sits behind the Seven Towers roundabout, just down the A26 dual carriageway from Junction One and the M2, will be open to the public from 11.30am till 4.30pm. With adults admission only £3 and children under 12 FREE, this has to be a bargain day out!!
